Operations & control functions
The MC Tyre Handler is a hydraulic and electronically controlled system with major vertical up and down and tilt functions, controlled from the machine operator’s cab.
The Tyre Handler is controlled by means of a wireless remote control system and operated by a ground control Tyre Handler/operator. The remote control function and two-way radio systems does not only provide maximum safety to the operating crew, it also eliminates unnecessary breakdown time and prevents damage being caused to wheel stud threads during wheel and rim replacement. This usually happens when the operator uses a forward movement of the Wheel Loader to align the wheel and wheel studs for wheel replacement.
Control functions includes:
- Forward and backward telescopic extension of approximately 380 mm for quick and accurate extraction and control of the tyre and rim from the studs of the truck.
- Level Rotation of 180° degrees.
- Side Shifting (left and right) to a maximum of 320 mm.
- 360° degrees Front Wheel station rotation.
- The MC Tyre Handler is fitted with front rotation motors, delivering 17 000 newton meters of torque.
MACHINE ATTACHMENT OPTIONS
The Tyre Handler can be attached via our Quick Coupling System or as a direct attachment to Wheel Loaders, Cranes and Forklifts.
SAFETY FEATURES
Machinery Contractors Tyre Handlers can be fitted with safety catch and grab cylinder protection, fall arrest arms for roll back protection and load holding valves at an additional cost.
The Tyre Handler’s remote control function and two-way radio systems provide maximum safety to the operating crew during wheel & rim replacement.
Our Tyre Handler system’s remote control and telescopic function controls precise movements when carrying out delicate and precision movements such as wheel replacement.
MC 3200 LIGHT DUTY TYRE HANDLER
2 800 kg capacity
The MC 3200 Light Duty Tyre Handler can be directly attached to a crane. The unit is hydraulically controlled with a four-bank control valve and comes complete with port and a main relieve valves. The crane is fitted with hydraulic pressure and tank lines from the machine to the Tyre Handler’s control valve.
When attached to a Wheel Loader, it is fitted with hydraulic spring loaded reels to accommodate the pressure and tank lines from the machine to the Tyre Handler’s control valve.
MC 3200 HEAVY DUTY TYRE HANDLER
8 000 kg capacity
Machinery Contractors designs and manufactures the MC 3200 Tyre Handler for direct or quick coupler coupling on Wheel Loaders and Forklifts.
The MC 3200 Tyre Handler has a lifting capacity of 8 000 kg and is fitted with front rotation motors, delivering 17 000 newton meters of torque.

MC 4400 TYRE HANDLER

Machinery Contractors designs and manufactures the MC 4400 Tyre Handler for Wheel Loader attachment and Fork Lifts.
The MC 4400 Tyre Handler has a lifting capacity of 12 000 kg and can be attached via our MC Quick Coupler System or a direct attach.
MC 4600 MEGA TYRE HANDLER
14 000 kg capacity
Our new and improved MEGA Tyre Handler of which the previous models which a number of units have proved itself to be successful at some of the world’s biggest mines such as the Coal, Diamond, Platinum, Copper and Iron Ore mines.
The new MC MEGA Model Tyre Handler is fitted with a Hydraulic Brake System. The unit is fitted with proportional Hydraulic System.
The major vertical up and down and tilt function is controlled from the Operators Cab of the machine. The tyre handler is controlled by means of a wireless remote-control system and operated by a ground control tyre handler operator. The tyre handler functions include a forward/backward telescopic function of approx. 380 mm for the quick and accurate extraction and control of the tyre and rim from the studs of the truck.
Other functions are the new level rotation of 180 degrees to be fitted with a hydraulic braking system, as well as side shifting, left and right – maximum 320 mm, also featuring a 360 degrees front wheel station rotation. The remote control will be fitted with an on and off switch that will control the LED System to ensure maximum visibility for the operator.
